Today I actually treated myself.

I’m currently going through the book The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron, and a key part of it is doing something called “The Artist’s Date.” The process itself is to do something by yourself for ~2 hours to enrich your creativity. That’s what I aimed for today. I’m not yet sure if I’d recommend the book, as there’s a fair bit of religiosity within its pages, but I’ll let you all know at the end of the typical 12-week course. But yes, the Artist’s Date today was to brave my city’s CBD, explore a few of the cheap shops, and get to my local game store.

I’ve been trying to find bits & bobs for kitbashing my swill-train, hoping for a toy train, but I did mange to find a few nautical creatures. Crab, starfish, whale, shark, dolphin, and seahorse do give me quite a few options, so I’ll get the hot glue out soon to see what fits & what works. I grabbed a few mini glass bottles too, mostly so I could make some big glass vessels for the swill to be kept in. Big oil jars, roped onto a cart or goobers walking alongside

The LGS was mostly to get myself some more hobby spray paint; I’m trying out Vallejo’s rattle cans for the first time, so we’ll see how we go with those.

I also managed to get some movement trays for my Turnip28 boys, so I think I’ll be starting to paint them in the next week or so.

Not too much more to report, but not a bad day all-in-all.
